The leather jacket gate is when fans believe Priyanka Chopra all but confirmed her alleged affair with Shah Rukh Khan.

While Priyanka Chopra is now happily married to American singer Nick Jonas, all throughout her career, she has been linked with many of her co-stars. However, nothing exploded on our timelines and in the headlines more than her alleged affair with none other than Shah Rukh Khan. The affair allegedly started on the sets of Don 2, after which it was reported that SRK’s wife Gauri Khan forbade him to ever work with Priyanka again. While the two superstars never confirmed their relationship, one interview by Priyanka Chopra made fans believe there was actually truth to the affair rumors, and it had all to do with a leather jacket. Here is what happened.

It happened in 2017 when Priyanka Chopra appeared on an episode of Dirty Laundry with Laura Brown to promote Baywatch. In the interview, fans believe that PC all but confirmed her previous relationship with Shah Rukh Khan, which many believe became the reason for her exit from Bollywood in the subsequent years.

In the show, Priyanka Chopra showed a leather jacket which she claimed belonged to an ex-boyfriend. While she did not name the ex-boyfriend, fans were convinced it was the same jacket that Shah Rukh had been previously pictured in. Here is what Priyanka Chopra said of the infamous jacket, “I was a little unsure about this one, whether I should [get it or not]. But your show is called Dirty Laundry, so I thought might as well. This is a jacket that I literally live in. It’s my airport jacket, but it belonged to an ex-boyfriend.”

Priyanka Chopra further added, “Things get exchanged. But this one I really, really loved because it kind of became mine. It stopped being his after it stayed back in my house once and I just kind of wore it. He asked for it and I said no. I was like ‘no’. That’s what happens in a relationship. Sorry! After the interview, pictures of Shah Rukh Khan allegedly wearing the same jacket started making rounds, and fans became convinced that this was Priyanka Chopra’s subtle way of confirming that they had indeed once dated. Of course, this is all speculation.

While one faction of fans was convinced the jacket belonged to Shah Rukh Khan, others believed it could also be Harman Baweja’s, who had also previously dated Priyanka Chopra and wore a lot of leather jackets. We can never be sure as the leather jacket saga remains unsolved to this date.
