Coolie was a massive box office hit and is considered as one of the most memorable movies for more reasons than one. Manmohan Das and Prayag Raj’s film had a scene where Amitabh Bachchan and Puneet Issar had to fight, and in the course, the former got badly injured on his stomach by mistake. The injury was so grave that Amitabh was declared clinically dead for a while. However, the superstar revived but was in a coma.

Reminiscing the incident, Amitabh Bachchan recently took to his X account and shared that his family had to struggle a lot at that time. He called the day as his second birthday as it was his second chance at life and thanked all his fans and well-wishers for blessing him. He further wrote:

“My love and greetings for all your blessings for the 2nd of August .. I am unable to reply to them individually .. so accept this as my response .. blessed. I shall make an effort though time permitting.”

Amitabh Bachchan continued that he had no idea what was going on around that time as he was unconscious, but once he woke up from a coma, reality hit him. Amitabh Bachchan further added:

“See, I never knew that I was going to die. I knew that there was something very wrong with me but I never knew that I was going to die. And the entire period when I was seemingly gone, when I was struggling for life, I was in a state of coma. I was unconscious. That was a difficult period for my family. It was easy for me because I was oblivious. The difficult period for me started after I got okay. When you’re told what you’ve been through. And it’s not enough that you’ve been told.”
