Jaya told Karan that when her daughter Shweta Bachchan got married there was a void in Amitabh Bachchan’s life which was then filled when bahu Aishwarya came to their house. She said that whenever Amitabh Bachchan sees Aishwarya he becomes happy. She even added that Big B never saw Aishwarya as a daughter-in-law, but always considered her as his daughter. She shared that Amitabh Bachchan’s eyes would light up every time he saw Aishwarya Rai. Jaya said that Aishwarya fills the vacuum that Shweta left. During an interview with Stardust magazine, Jaya said that Aishwarya is a wonderful mom and a strong woman. She said that Aishwarya takes full care of her daughter and does all the work herself.
