The Real Story Behind ’83’ Trailer on Burj Khalifa

Recently, the trailer of the much-anticipated film ’83, starring Ranveer Singh and Deepika Padukone, was showcased on the world’s tallest building, Burj Khalifa. This event marked a historic moment in Bollywood as it was the first time a film’s trailer received such an honor. Present at this grand occasion were Ranveer Singh, Deepika Padukone, legendary cricketer Kapil Dev, and the entire team of ’83.

However, the question arises whether this honor was truly a mark of recognition or a paid spectacle. Controversial film critic Kamal R. Khan (KRK) shed light on this matter through a video. According to KRK, having a trailer displayed on Burj Khalifa is not necessarily a gesture of respect but a paid service. He claimed that anyone could have their video played on Burj Khalifa, provided they are willing to pay the price.

Reports suggest that the cost of running a trailer on Burj Khalifa ranges from 1 to 1.5 crore INR. This expense was reportedly borne to display the trailer of ’83. A website revealed the approximate expenditure involved in such advertisements.

During the screening of the ’83’ trailer on Burj Khalifa, both Deepika and Ranveer were visibly emotional, projecting an image of receiving a significant honor. However, according to KRK, this was merely a promotional strategy. Running a trailer on such a prestigious platform generates media buzz, leading to extensive publicity with relatively lower costs compared to traditional advertising methods.

While the display of the ’83’ trailer on Burj Khalifa was an impressive spectacle, it appears to be more of a calculated marketing move rather than an unearned accolade. This revelation prompts a discussion on the nature of such promotional strategies and their impact on audience perception.
