Aishwarya Rai, often hailed as the most beautiful woman in the world continues to captivate fans and celebrities alike. Recently, Kim Kardashian referred to her as a “queen,” which brought back memories of when Australian actor Hugh Jackman praised Aishwarya during his visit to India. This memorable incident occurred in 2011, leaving a lasting impression on fans and attendees.
In 2011, Hugh Jackman visited India with his then-wife Deborra-Lee Furness, as he was being honored for his contributions to cinema. The event was graced by renowned director Yash Chopra and the stunning Aishwarya Rai, who presented Jackman with a Lord Ganesha idol, symbolizing a warm and respectful welcome.

Accepting the gift, Hugh Jackman delivered a cleverly crafted compliment that showcased his charm and wit. He said, “Thank you, Aish. I was told I was going to be introduced by the most beautiful actress in the world and I thought it was going to be my wife. And I say that because I am a very smart man and also because my wife is sitting in the front row.”

This remark elicited laughter and applause from the audience. Jackman continued, “But Aish, thank you very much. You are indeed a very beautiful actress. Not the most beautiful actress (pointing to his wife) but a very beautiful actress.”
The ‘Wolverine’ fame star also expressed his gratitude upon receiving the honour. His playful yet respectful comment was well-received by fans. Social media buzzed with reactions, praising his ability to balance admiration for Aishwarya while honoring his wife. One fan commented, “You praise Ash, you win her heart and her fans. But you praise your wife in front of her you win all the women’s hearts.” Another added, “Bro was saving himself from an argument,” highlighting Jackman’s diplomatic charm. A third fan remarked, “Such a thorough gentleman apart from being a terrific actor.”

Besides Aishwarya, Hugh expressed his admiration for Shah Rukh Khan, stating, “I am a huge fan of Shah Rukh Khan and I loved his film ‘My Name is Khan’. I want to do a sequel to this film and that will be called ‘My Name is Jackman and I am not a tourist’,” he joked, referencing the iconic line “My name is Khan and I am not a terrorist.”

Fast forward to the current times, Hugh Jackman continues to thrive professionally and was recently seen in the release of ‘Deadpool and Wolverine’ alongside Ryan Reynolds.
