Throwback: When Salman Khan was flirting with Bhagyashree during Maine Pyar Kiya! How did Bhai’s make her blush?

In an old interview, Bhagyashree reminisced about her friendship with Salman Khan, recalling the humorous incident about how Salman Khan kept messing with her during the Maine Pyar Kiya shoot.

The actress recalled her debut alongside Salman Khan in the 1984 film Maine Pyar Kiya. She says she was scared of her father discovering her relationship with then boyfriend Himalaya Dasani due to his conservative mindset and it was only Salman Khan who knew about it.

In an interview with Pinkvilla, Bhagyashree shared that she used to be very studious, and did not interact with boys, and this only changed when she found Himalaya, they got married before Maine Pyar Kiya’s release after which she decided to give up on her film career.

Looking back on how she kept the secrecy of her relationship, she said “My friendship with Salman got really thick, because of one crazy fact. Salman had a common friend with Himalaya ji, and he came to know about us before the entire world. He was the first person to know. We were shooting for ‘Dil Deewana Bin Sajna Ke’, and we were in Ooty for about a month. Salman comes, and starts singing the song in my ear. That particular day, we had press on the set, and Salman had never behaved like this. He would nudge me a little bit, come close, and again start singing. And I was like, ‘Why is he trying to flirt with me? Why is he acting funny?’”

Bhagyashree shared that she felt nervous during the shoot and said to Salman “Behave yourself, what’s wrong with you?” after which Salman said “I know where the Dil Deewana is happening,”. After Salman revealed that he knew about her and Himalaya’s relationship he suggested that “He can stay with me in my room, and everyone on the set will think he’s my friend. ” Bhagyashree denied the offer as she was too scared, but it did result in Salman and Bhagyashree’s bonding.
