Sudden body transformations are scary, says fitness icon John Abraham when addressing Fitness Icon Salman Khan

Dishoom actor and fitness icon John Abraham talks about how sudden body transformations can be “scary”.

Reports about Bollywood actors transforming themselves physically for their films are common these days. Salman Khan and Aamir Khan gained weight for their new movies. Ranveer Singh and Sushant Singh Rajput are also working on their bodies for their upcoming films. But aren’t these actors risking their health with such drastic makeovers?John Abraham was recently seen in the film Dishoom with Varun Dhawan and Jacqueline Fernandez.John Abraham was recently seen in the film Dishoom with Varun Dhawan and

John Abraham certainly thinks so. “Sudden body transformations are always scary. Fitness isn’t just about six-pack abs, but also about having a healthy lifestyle,” says the actor, who is considered a fitness icon.

John says he has continually tried to set an example for others. “I can’t be going around smoking and doing drugs. When it comes to fitness, I’ve been regimental to the point of being boring,” he adds.

John says that fitness comes naturally to him. “I don’t try to lead a healthy lifestyle. It’s a way of life for me,” he says, adding, “I’m prepared 365 days of the year [to do any role]. As far as playing characters [in films] is concerned, I think we must concentrate a little less on the style and more on studying what we are doing.”

Over the years, John has worked with a variety of film-makers such as Kabir Khan, Nishikant Kamat and Sanjay Gupta. A film’s director often becomes one of the major factors when he’s choosing a project. “But I do believe that content comes first. Also, there’s no good or bad actor; there is a good or bad director,” says John.
