Salman Khan hits back at people saying 'Salim-Javed ka dimaag kharaab ho gaya' at Angry Young Men trailer launch: 'Kyunki woh hit pe hit de rahe the...'

At the trailer launch of Angry Young Men on August 13, Salman Khan showered praise on the legendary Salim Khan and Javed Akhtar. In a heartfelt address to a distinguished audience, he fondly recalled the days when the iconic writing duo was criticized and dubbed as ‘crazy,’ highlighting their journey and enduring impact.
During the trailer launch, Salman praised Salim and Javed for their brilliant minds, which churned out hit after hit. He noted that their critics, often those they didn’t collaborate with, labeled them as crazy. In reality, their minds were exceptionally sharp, evident from their continuous success.

The ‘Dabangg’ star expressed concerns about the current state of writing in cinema, comparing it unfavorably to the work of Salim-Javed. He noted that today’s writers often recycle ideas from past films rather than drawing inspiration from real life. According to Salman, this lack of originality contrasts sharply with the creativity and innovation that defined Salim-Javed’s era.
The series is produced by Salman Khan Films, Excel Media & Entertainment, and Tiger Baby. Executive producers include Salma Khan, Salman Khan, Ritesh Sidhwani, Farhan Akhtar, Zoya Akhtar, and Reema Kagti.

Meanwhile, on the work front, Salman is preparing for his upcoming film Sikandar, an action-packed venture directed by AR Murugadoss and presented by Sajid Nadiadwala. Scheduled for release on Eid 2025, the film will also feature Rashmika Mandanna, Sathyaraj, and Prateik Babbar in significant roles.
Launching on August 20, Prime Video’s Angry Young Men offers a nostalgic journey into the lives of the iconic writer-duo Salim-Javed, who created the “Angry Young Man” persona in Hindi cinema. Directed by debutant Namrata Rao, the docu-series features stars like Salim Khan, Javed Akhtar, Salman Khan, Farhan Akhtar, Arbaaz Khan, Jaya Bachchan, Aamir Khan, and Zoya Akhtar.
