Imran Khan reveals Salman Khan & Sanjay Dutt use steroids to achieve a masculine physique and that he will do the same

Imran Khan recently shed light on the intense pressures actors face to keep up appearances, especially when it comes to looking masculine. He noted that while women have long been expected to stay “wrinkle-free” and glamorous, this burden is now hitting men hard too, thanks to the booming superhero trend in both Hollywood and Bollywood and even South.
Imran discussed how the pressure to appear masculine has grown significantly over the past two decades, particularly with the rise of the superhero genre in cinema. He pointed out that figures like Hrithik Roshan, Salman Khan, and Sanjay Dutt have set the bar for masculinity, leading many to feel compelled to emulate their physiques. The influence of social media has further intensified this pressure, making it harder for actors to escape the constant scrutiny of their appearances.

The actor confessed that he turned to steroids in an attempt to fit the hyper-masculine image prevalent in Bollywood. Despite his efforts, he realized that his body wasn’t naturally built for the superhero-like physique often idolized on screen. He admitted that while he tried to conform to these standards, the use of steroids proved unsustainable and ultimately took a toll on him.

Khan stepped away from the film industry after the box office failure of Katti Batti, where he starred alongside Kangana Ranaut. In a chat with Film Companion, Imran shared that his decision to leave films stemmed from feeling disconnected from his true self. He explained that while acting was a choice, addressing his inner struggles wasn’t optional, and prioritizing his well-being became more important than continuing his career in acting.
