Netizens were divided over the occurrence, with some wondering if it was a PR stunt or a violation of privacy. A phone conversation between Urvashi and her manager was also released, which fueled more controversy.

In the audio, Urvashi is heard expressing worry about the situation and requesting that the video be taken off social media right away. Her supervisor recognized the gravity of the circumstance and recommended having a face-to-face conversation rather than a call about it.  She was heard asking her manager, “Have you seen the video? I just don’t understand how are these things going out. I need to get on a call with them immediately.”

Her manager was heard replying to her, “It’s a sad situation. But, let’s not talk on the phone, we should talk in person regarding it.”

Ghuspaithiya, which will hit theatres on August 9, also has Vineet Kumar Singh and Akshay Oberoi in key parts. According to the movie’s synopsis, “The Ghuspaithiya film explores the intricacies of contemporary digital dangers and their influence on our personal and professional life. Additionally, it highlights the ubiquitous impact of social media and the threats to privacy and trust that it poses. However, the entire episode looks to be a publicity hoax for the movie’s advertising.
