Actor, Salman Khan is not just known for his stardom but also for his philanthropic deeds. One such remarkable act of kindness was when he donated his bone marrow back in 2010. His generous contribution turned out to be life-saving for a little girl, which did not go unnoticed and was highly appreciated. Although recent happenings around his house have made headlines, it’s his genuine acts of kindness that truly define his character.

A few years back, there was news of great admiration for Salman Khan coming from those struggling with health challenges. Apparently, Salman had come across a story of a young girl, Pooja, desperately needing a bone marrow transplant. Such was his contribution that he even persuaded his entire football team to become marrow donors. However, when push came to shove, only Salman and his brother Arbaaz stood their ground and turned out as primary donors.

Salman delved into the challenges that are intrinsically linked with bone marrow donation in India during this time. He spoke, “We only have around 5,000 donors. The lack of awareness and our attitude towards donation are major issues. Donating marrow can save lives and is as simple as a blood test. I understand that some people are even afraid of blood tests, but by being a little brave, you can make a big difference (sic).”

In 2022, veteran actor Suniel Shetty spoke to Bollywood Hungama where he took a trip down memory lane when Salman selflessly donated his bone marrow. Suniel said, “Salman Khan donated his marrow years ago. Only those who truly want to make a difference in the world do such things, and that’s why God is so kind to him. God is watching over him. He is truly God’s favourite (sic).”

Reports also indicate that Salman Khan is set to feature in an adrenaline-charged movie, under the brilliant direction of A. R. Murugadoss – the brains behind the acclaimed ‘Ghajini’.
