BARANGAY Ginebra will be getting a three-week break before starting its title-retention bid in the PBA Governors’ Cup.

The Gin Kings will open their Governors’ Cup campaign against Rain or Shine on Feb. 5 at the Smart-Araneta Coliseum, 21 days after topping the Commissioner’s Cup.

Ginebra beat Bay Area in Game Seven of the finals.

The Governors’ Cup opens on Sunday at the Philsports Arena with Rain or Shine facing Meralco, as Converge battles NorthPort.

The Gin Kings will be going for their third straight Governors’ Cup crown after winning in 2019 and 2021.

Justin Brownlee will remain as Ginebra’s import for its title-retention bid after leading the Gin Kings to the Commissioner’s Cup crown. He also captured the Best Import award last conference.

It will actually be a busy week for Ginebra after its conference debut as it faces NLEX on Feb. 8 at the Smart-Araneta Coliseum, and NorthPort on Friday, Feb. 10 at the SM Mall of Asia Arena before taking on Magnolia on Sunday, Feb. 12 at the SM Mall of Asia Arena.
