With Pathaan, Jawan, and Kalki 2898 AD, Deepika Padukone creates history by delivering three Rs 1000 crore blockbusters

Deepika Padukone continues to write and rewrite history at the box-office. In 2023, she had two consecutive 1000 crore blockbusters- Jawan and Pathaan. And this year, she’s all set to have another massive money spinner with Kalki 2898 AD. The speed at which this magnum opus is going at the ticket windows, it should enter the 1000 crore club soon.

Taking to her Instagram handle, PV Sindhu posted a still of Deepika Padukone in her role as Sumathi from Kalki 2898 AD. The actress looked mesmerizing in the image, showcasing her compelling on-screen presence. Sindhu praised Deepika’s performance with a heartfelt message, expressing her awe with a simple “Just wow. @deepikapadukone”

While talking to Firstpost, trade expert Ramesh Bala had predicted the humongous collection of the movie and had said, “See, basically the movie has done the business of Rs 300 crores in two days, which means Friday and Saturday. It can cross 500 crores by Sunday night, which is still a good number. Then you are looking at weekdays there will be a weekday drop. So, we have to just see how much is the weekday drop. And certainly next weekend it will pick up. So, eventually, it shouldn’t be a problem. I think it may not have the greatest hold on Monday. It will be like an average hold still that I think overall given the second weekend, third weekend and overall it should reasonably do big numbers, lifetime.”

On numerous occasions, PV Sindhu and Padukone have been sharing a great camaraderie! Apart from PV Sindhu, Deepika’s performance as Sumathi has won the hearts of audiences worldwide.

A blend of Hindu epic Mahabharata and science fiction, the big-budget film is produced by Vyjayanthi Movies and was released on Thursday in six languages: Telugu, Tamil, Malayalam, Kannada, Hindi and English.

Kalki 2898 AD   , mounted on a whopping budget of Rs 600 crore, features Prabhas, Deepika Padukone, Amitabh Bachchan and Kamal Haasan.

On the opening day, the movie earned Rs 191.5 GBOC and collected Rs 107 crore on Friday. It added Rs 152.5 crore for its day three collection on Saturday.
