Amit Mishra drops interesting details on the feud involving Gautam Gambhir and Virat Kohli

India’s two most decorated cricketers Virat Kohli and Gautam Gambhir have witnessed several ups and downs during the course of their career. Gambhir, who is now the head coach of the Indian cricket team, also the senior between the two, shared a heartwarming moment when Kohli was very new in the senior setup. It was right after Kohli’s maiden ODI ton, Gambhir selflessly presented his Player of the Match award to the former.

However, the relation between the two did take a blow in the cash rich Indian Premier League (IPL). It all began when Gambhir played for the Kolkata franchise and a few years down the line similar scenes were witnessed, with Gambhir this time being the mentor of the Lucknow Super Giants (LSG).

The two, however, were seen burying the hatchet in the previous edition of IPL, a sight cherished by several fans.

Amit Mishra, veteran India spinner, and someone who has worked with Gambhir closely at the Lucknow camp, has now provided some interesting details about the “feud”. Passing details, Mishra also hailed Gambhir for being the bigger person between the two,  which put an end to the tension.

Speaking in a podcast (‘Unplugged’ by Shubhankar Mishra), Mishra said: “I saw a good thing about Gautam. Virat Kohli didn’t go towards him, Gautam went towards him. He went and asked ‘How are you, how’s your family.’
So it was Gautam who ended the feud and not Kohli.
