It has been 25 years since the release of Sooraj Barjatya’s iconic film ‘Hum Saath Saath Hain’ was released starring Salman Khan, Karisma Kapoor, Sonali Bendre, Saif Ali Khan, Mohnish Bahl, and Tabu. The family drama is still remembered fondly and time and again, many anecdotes from the shooting of the film also come out in the media.

Saif Ali Khan, who made his acting debut with the film, ‘Parampara‘ in 1993, played the role of Salman Khan and Mohnish Bahl’s younger brother in the family drama. ‘Hum Saath Saath Hain’ was a huge boost to Saif Ali Khan’s career. But, during the shooting of the film, the actor was often riddled with personal problems that started impacting his shoot. 

In an old interview, director, Sooraj Barjatya opened up about an anecdote about shooting ‘Hum Saath Saath Hain‘ and revealed that Saif Ali Khan was always stressed at that time. Sooraj Barjatya said that during the shooting of the song ‘Suno ji Dulhan’, the actor was not sleeping all night.

“As he was not sleeping through the night, I gave Amrita a piece of advice. Amrita was advised to give him sleeping pills without Saif’s knowledge. She gave him sleeping pills without his knowledge. So many of his scenes were arranged the next day. He did it. The song gave a very good shot in one take. Everyone was shocked as he gave a very good shot,” Sooraj Barjatya said.

For the unversed, Saif Ali Khan got married to Amrita Singh, who was 12 years older than him, in October 1991. The couple got divorced in 2004. They have two children – Sara Ali Khan and Ibrahim Ali Khan.

Saif Ali Khan got remarried in 2016 to Kareena Kapoor Khan. They also have two children – Taimur Ali Khan and Jeh Ali Khan.
