Amitabh Bachchan used to host grandest Holi parties, which ended abruptly. There have been rumors about why the celebrations stopped.

Amitabh Bachchan's Grand Holi Parties Had Entry Fee That Was Paid By All The Bollywood Stars, Here's How A Prediction & A Catastrophe Put A Full Stop To The Celebration!

Holi is a festival that cannot be complete without three iconic songs – Rang Barse Bheege Chunar Waali, Holi Khele Raghuveera, and Khaike Paan Banaras Wala. The last one is not necessarily a Holi song, but it still is a must in the Holi playlist for some strange reason. And guess what is common with these three songs? None other than Amitabh Bachchan.

There was a time in Bollywood when stars used to throw lavish Holi parties, and Bachchan’s Holi party was a riot. In fact, old reports are a testimony to the fact that after RK Studios Holi stopped after Raj Kapoor’s death, it was Big B who picked up the tradition.

Amitabh Bachchan‘s Holi parties used to be a rage as per people who attended it. Reports state that the party used to have an entry fee, and every Bollywood star had to pay the fee to enter the celebrations. Guess what was the fee? Scroll down to read more.

So, the entry fee was a ritual that had to be followed by every Bollywood star, and no one was spared. Guess what was the ritual? The Holi party that used to be held on the lawns of Prateeksha had a huge tub filled with water and colors kept right at the entry gate. Whoever came to the party had to necessarily take a dip in the water, and only then was the person eligible and ready for the party.

Some anecdotes suggest that Jaya Bachchan used to be the best host of these parties. She used to meet everyone in person and make sure that their appetites were full of snacks. She made a rule that no one leaves without having lunch. Even little Abhishek Bachchan used to attend to every guest and make sure they had snacks.

However, these lavish parties came to an abrupt end, and the internet is full of theories. One theory suggests that after Amitabh Bachchan started witnessing huge flops, he consulted an astrologer who predicted that his Holi parties needed to be stopped, and thus, the celebrations ended. However, this seems a very vague reason, tbh!

Another report suggests that Bachchans were deeply disturbed by the 26/11 attacks, and they stopped hosting Holi parties ever since, which might also have a security reason. This sounds very sane. But the fact is, Holi parties at Bachchans stopped way before.

In fact, in one of his very early blogs, Big B might have suggested why actually his Holi parties stopped. Sharing his thoughts, the superstar wrote that the ill health of his father, Harivansh Rai Bachchan, followed by his death, and then his mother, Teji Bachchan, struggling with her health and her death, stopped the celebrations altogether.

However, the Bachchans still celebrate the festival together with their close ones every year, and the entire family unites for festivities.
