Throwback: When Shah Rukh Khan said, 'My English is not good' on being asked why he is not doing Hollywood movies

The King of wit, Shah Rukh Khan charms one and all with his intrinsic charisma. The actor, who is one of the biggest superstars not only in India, but across the world, has surprisingly not ventured into Hollywood ever.

The Dunki actor even addressed this question at the 2008 Berlin Film Festival, when a journalist asked him that he is a big star, so why hasn’t he yet moved to Hollywood.

To this, the actor, in his trademark style said, “My English is not good, if they give me a role of a dumb person who doesn’t speak, maybe then there’s a possibility.”

He also recognized his age and physical attributes, noting that he didn’t have any distinctive advantages as an actor in Hollywood. SRK mentioned that he lacked skills in martial arts and a towering height, qualities typically associated with Hollywood action stars.

Additionally, Khan expressed his dedication to Indian cinema and his ambition to enhance the global presence of Indian films. He felt that he was better suited to remain in the Indian film industry, where he could contribute to expanding its reach on the international stage
