Salman Khan praises Salim-Javed’s unique approach to storytelling: 'They are true men'

The legendary writing duo of Salim Khan and Javed Akhtar has left an indelible mark on the industry with a string of blockbuster films, including iconic hits like ‘Sholay’, ‘Deewar’, and ‘Zanjeer’. A new docu-series has been announced to chronicle their extraordinary journey together, though the reasons for their eventual separation remain shrouded in mystery. Their split was a significant loss to the industry and continues to be a widely discussed topic. The upcoming documentary is set to uncover the real reasons behind their parting, providing fans and industry insiders with an insightful look into one of Bollywood’s most talked-about separations.

At the trailer launch of their documentary film ‘Angry Young Man’, Salim Khan’s son Salman Khan talked about the legendary duo Salim-Javed and said, “A lot of writers write, but Salim-Javed thought deeply. They put their life’s experiences, what they’ve learned from people around, what they’ve seen, what their parents have taught them, what their children, the way they’ve grown up. So they’ve taken it from life and put it in the cinema. The rest of the writers pick it up from the cinema and put it in the cinema. God makes men. But in this generation, they don’t want to be men. These two here, my father and Javed Saab, they’re men, they’re still men because they want to be men.”

The documentary series explores how the legendary writing duo, Salim-Javed, came together to create groundbreaking work that remains unparalleled in cinema. The trailer launch event for the series saw the presence of several notable figures, including Salman Khan, Farhan Akhtar, Zoya Akhtar, Arbaaz Khan, and Reema Kagti, among others. Their attendance underscored the significance of the duo’s impact on the film industry and the excitement surrounding the documentary’s release.
