Throwback to when Salman Khan playfully trolled Ajay Devgn about the future of the ‘Golmaal’ series

During the promotions of ‘Golmaal Again,’ there was a light-hearted moment when Salman Khan couldn’t resist poking fun at Ajay Devgn and Rohit Shetty over their long-running comedy franchise. Known for his quick wit, Salman jokingly asked Ajay, “Kitne part banaoge yaar? How many parts are you going to make, buddy?” This playful banter took place on the set of ‘Bigg Boss 11,’ where Ajay and Rohit were promoting the fourth installment of the ‘Golmaal’ series.

True to his style, Salman followed up by predicting, “It will definitely be a hit. The last parts were hits, so this one will also be a hit.” His curiosity piqued, Salman then asked what was different about ‘Golmaal Part 4.’ Rohit Shetty cheerfully responded, “This one has a ghost,” while Ajay added, “It’s a horror-comedy.”

The ‘Golmaal’ series has become one of the most beloved comedy franchises in Indian cinema, with Ajay Devgn, Arshad Warsi, Tusshar Kapoor, Sanjay Mishra, Vrajesh Hirjee, and Mukesh Tiwari as the constant lead cast across all four films. Shreyas Talpade, Ashwini Kalsekar, and Murali Sharma have also been recurring faces, with Kareena Kapoor Khan, Kunal Kemmu, and Johnny Lever appearing in two films. In ‘Golmaal Again,’ Parineeti Chopra joined the cast as the female protagonist.

At that time, Ajay Devgn was in London working on ‘Son of Sardaar 2,’ a sequel to the 2012 action-comedy Son of Sardaar. The film boasted a star-studded cast including Ravi Kishan, Mrunal Thakur, Chunkey Pandey, Vindu Dara Singh, Deepak Dobriyal, Mukul Dev, Ashwini Kalsekar, Kubbra Sait, and Sanjay Dutt. After wrapping up ‘Son of Sardaar 2,’ Ajay was set to feature in ‘Singham Again,’ another addition to Rohit Shetty’s Cop Universe.

Meanwhile, Salman Khan os gearing up for his next big release, ‘Sikandar,’ directed by AR Murugadoss and produced under the banner of Sajid Nadiadwala. Starring opposite Rashmika Mandanna, the film was slated for an Eid 2025 release.
