Jaya Bachchan and Amitabh Bachchan have been married for over 50 years and have two children, Abhishek Bachchan and Shweta Bachchan. In earlier seasons of Karan Johar’s Koffee with Karan, the Bachchans featured prominently in entertainment news. As reported by News 18, during the second season, Jaya Bachchan and Shweta Bachchan appeared with Hema Malini and Esha Deol. Host Karan commented that the men in the Bachchan family were “quieter,” but Jaya disagreed with his claims. The actress-politician was questioned about whether Abhishek was really quiet. However, she revealed that the Dhoom actor talks non-stop and has strong opinions on everything.
Further, Shweta Bachchan stated that Abhishek is very smooth and knows how to flatter everyone. Shweta admitted that she often finds herself in trouble for being outspoken, while Abhishek tends to agree with everyone around him, whether with his mother or father, and avoids causing offence. Jaya then said, “The biggest baby takes more attention than anyone else.” When Karan suggested she was referring to Abhishek, she denied it. However, when Karan mentioned Amitabh Bachchan’s name, Jaya smiled and nodded in agreement.
Currently, the Bachchan family is in the news again due to rumours of Abhishek Bachchan and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan’s alleged separation. However, the couple has not confirmed the same.
On the work front, Jaya Bachchan last appeared in the movie Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani in 2023. Directed by Karan Johar, the romantic comedy drama also stars Ranveer Singh, Alia Bhatt, Dharmendra and Shabana Azmi. On the other hand, Big B was last seen in Nag Ashwin’s Kalki 2898 AD, which was released in June this year. The megastar played Ashwatthama in the science fiction mythological action drama. The film also stars Prabhas, Deepika Padukone, and Kamal Haasan.
