Shraddha Kapoor and Rajkummar Rao’s ‘Stree 2′ has set a new record by earning over Rs 54 crore on its opening day, surpassing Prabhas’ ‘Kalki 2898 AD’ and Hrithik Roshan’s ‘Fighter’. The film has become the biggest opener of 2024. Other notable actors include Pankaj Tripathi, Abhishek Banerjee, Aparshakti Khurrana, Varun Dhawan, Tamannaah Bhatia and Akshay Kumar.

Shraddha Kapoor and Rajkummar Rao’s highly-anticipated movie ‘Stree 2’ has registered an opening of over Rs 54 crore, the highest for any Hindi movie in 2024. With this, the film has broken the records of Rebel star Prabhas and Bollywood Greek God Hrithik Roshan.

On Day 1, the horror comedy film had a really impressive opening and made a total of Rs 54.35 crore, of which Rs 8.35 crore were from its preview shows a day before release.

Fans love the film that has already outdone Prabhas’ ‘Kalki 2898 AD’ and Hrithik’s ‘Fighter’. Stree 2 has already become the biggest opening movie of 2024 by outdoing the Hindi version of Kalki 2898 AD which had made a total of Rs 22.5 crore on its first day. Not just Kalki, Shraddha has also outdone Hrithik-led Fighter, which also made Rs 22.5 crore on its opening day.

Interestingly, both Kalki and Fighter were led by Deepika Padukone. Stree 2 has now become the biggest Hindi opener of all time after Jawan (Rs 75 crore), Animal (Rs 63.80 crore) and Pathaan (Rs 57 crore). The film, which is a sequel to the 2018 comedy horror flick ‘Stree’ has opened to positive reviews and is expected to break more records in the weekends.

While all the actors including Pankaj Tripathi, Abhishek Banerjee, Aparshakti Khurrana and Rajkummar Rao have done fabulous work, it is Shraddha Kapoor’s show all the way. Despite limited screen time, Shraddha scores big with her performance.

This apart, actors Varun Dhawan, Tamannaah Bhatia and Akshay Kumar have brief cameos and contributed to the film’s success.
